Joo Yoo Rin (Lee Da Hae) is a tour guide in a small company in charge of running mini tours in the Jeju island of South Korea. Her Father is a gambling addict, but despite all the debts that he runs up, Yoo Rin always finds a way to help repay them. She leads a below-average life but is happy as long as her dad’s around. Because of her father’s gambling ways, she often has to move from country to country whenever her dad runs from one place to another to avoid their debtors. This has in turn brought her the ability to converse fluently in Chinese and Japanese, which are of great help as a tour guide whenever she has to entertain tourists from China and Japan.
Although her life is a great mess and full of lies, this doesn’t stop her from realizing her dream of owning a perfect home and live happily with her father. However, fate has other arrangements for poor Yoo-Rin.
Meanwhile, Seol Gong Chan (Lee Dong Wook), our male lead, is trying to find his long-lost cousin for his Grandpa who has become ill and wishes to see his Grand-daughter before he dies. Through many times of DNA testing…Gong Chan still cannot find his cousin. Seol Gong Chan has no other choice but to ask Yoo Rin to pretend to be his cousin until he can find the real one since she has somewhat of a resemblance of his aunt.
During the time when Yoo Rin is Gong Chan’s cousin, she meets Seo Jeong Woo. Jeong Woo is known as a player. He’s never serious in any relationship he’s in, but when he meets Yoo Rin…he truly fell in love with her since she’s different from any other girl he’s met. Jeong Woo then decides to go after Yoo Rin.
Things are getting even more complicated when Kim Sae Hyoon (Park Si Yeon), Gong Chan’s ex-girlfriend, returns from her success in Tennis. She decides to take Gong Chan back and he accepts her. However Yoo Rin starts to fall in love with Gong Chan without knowing and the same goes with Gong Chan. Now a complicated four-way relationship is developed with Kim Sae Hyoon and Seo Jeong Woo going between Ju Yoo Rin and Seol Gong Chan….
My Review…
I gotta say…this was one of the best Korean Drama I have ever watched. I stayed up late to watch it every night and I was soooo sad when it ended. The beginning was really funny and cute, I laughed hard. But the when it gets near the end…everything gets mixed up, the mood changes, and there’s quite a bit of irony. Overall, this drama is a MUST Watch!
Lee Da Hae - Ju Yoo Rin
One word to describe this actress…Professional. I love how Lee Da Hae acts as a liar in My Girl. Besides the funny parts..I really pity Yoo Rin. She’s never actually had a “real” home because of the fact that her dad’s a gambling addict and she often has to move from one place to another. Being a liar isn’t her fault…but because of her lies, it has lead her to know our wonderful male lead, Seol Gong Chan!
Le Dong Wook - Seol Gong Chan
I didn’t have an impression on him at first. He’s just a moody, workaholic to me. He was very mean to Yoo Rin too. However, as the story goes on…his character starts to change from boring and stubborn to cute and unique. Of course thats not until Yoo Rin starts to enter his world. Dong Wook sure left a GREAT impression acting the role of Seol Gong Chan. Good acting skills…Good looks…what more?
Lee Jun Ki - Seo Jeong Woo
Well, lets just say: Unlike Gong Chan, he doesn’t focus on work but more on courting girls. He’s a playboy until he meets Yoo Rin. He falls for her but through many attempts of courting her…he got denied. Then he got weak from knowing that she has feelings for Gong Chan. But towards the end…he finally decided that he should focus and be more devoted in his work…so he’s not that bad…
Park Si Yeon - Kim Sae Hyoon
I think her character is really annoying. First she decides to leave Gong Chan and go far away to fulfill her dream in Tennis. Then, years later, when Gong Chan has somewhat forgotten about her and meets Yoo Rin…she comes back and make things complicated for Yoo Rin and Gong Chan. All her jealousy stuff is just overated and annoying.
Like I said…This Drama is a MUST watch. You would be missing out if you decided not too.
